Sam Meech is an artist whose practice combines digital image making, projection design, community engagement, and machine knitting. He has been a member of Rogue Studios since December 2013. Sam is interested in the overlap and interplay between analogue and digital media, and the possibilities of combining the two in production and performance. In 2015 he developed a series of knitted animations and textile interventions for the National Film Board of Canada, which were exhibited in and around downtown Montreal. This new work explores the texture of Crusader Mill itself, through the signage and painted way-finding left by current and past tenants from the machine knitting industry.
